part of the opportunity.

Fresno’s workshop looked at how awareness, school experience and coordination connect families with the schools available to them.

Growth depends on more than getting noticed.

Fresno’s Census Day enrollment fell from 71,151 to 70,163. The workshop examined the parts of enrollment a district can work on directly: helping families discover its programs, connecting interest with school options, and supporting families through their decisions.

The school experience and the enrollment process belong in the same conversation.

A compelling program can create interest. A welcoming conversation, clear next step and dependable follow-up help carry that interest forward. Fresno’s analysis brings these pieces together, rather than treating outreach and enrollment as separate activities.

Coordination turns interest into a next step.

The report explores a practical question: when a family is interested and a school has room, how do the right people connect the two? It examines the responsibilities and handoffs involved, along with recommendations for a more connected family experience.
